NSW: Inner-western Sydney man charged over stabbing

SYDNEY, Dec 12 AAP - A 34-year-old man was charged after the stabbing of a woman in
inner-western Sydney yesterday.

Police said emergency services were called to a home unit in West Moreland Street,
Glebe, about 5am yesterday, and found the badly injured victim.

She underwent surgery at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and remained in a serious but
stable condition today.

Leichhardt detectives arrested a 34-year-old Hurlstone Park man at his home about 1.30pm
yesterday.

He was charged with wounding with intent to murder, malicious wounding with intent
to inflict grievous bodily harm and an outstanding warrant.

The man was refused bail to appear in Newtown Local Court this morning.
