Vic: Woman in Grampians hiking mishap

A 59-year-old woman has died in hospital after falling from a popular mountain pathin the Grampians National Park in western Victoria.

Police say ENRICA VAN DYKE, of Broadmeadows in Melbourne's north, was climbing a rockface known as the Elephant's Hide on the Wonderland Range with two friends on Friday afternoon.

She slipped and fell about 60 metres down the face of the rock, suffering severe headand internal injuries.

Police, paramedics and State Emergency Service volunteers rescued the woman and shewas flown to the Alfred hospital in Melbourne.

She died late on Friday night.
